White Stoneware and Porcelain Pottery

www.nancyzollerpottery.com

I am celebrating over 35 years of working with clay, allowing me a mastery of functional pottery. My home is in Loveland, Colorado where I have resided since 1981.

Working with a porcelain or white stoneware clay body fired in a gas, downdraft kiln, I create durable high-fired pottery. I enjoy combining wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Often the impression of a leaf, pine branch, pinecone or seashell works its way into the piece. I believe the delicate foot on the piece is just as important as the sturdy rim. Look closely; my color choices reflect the mountains, lake waters, and the trees of this exquisite Colorado area. The primary reward for me in creating a piece of pottery is the realization that my work will be integrated into someones day to day life experience; sometimes in a quiet, private moment, sometimes as they interact with others.

Pottery is to be appreciated for what it is, in the roundness of a bowl, the comfortable feel of a well crafted mug handle, the color of a glaze enhancing food or drink or the beauty of a vase filled with spring flowers. My mission is to create pottery that is artistic and brings warmth and balance into the lives of others..this is my passion.
